For centuries the Hebridean folk had little choice but to live in the cottage like building called a blackhouse but today most live in modern two or even three storey buildings. Byre Cottage & Stable Cottage on the Isle of Harris
The building shown to the left comprises of two wonderful cottages one is called Byre Cottage and the other Stable Cottage. Byre offers two bedrooms one is a family or double and the other has a single bed and a bunk bed.
Being on the one level makes this accommodation highly suitable for visitors who have mobility problems. Further enhancing the usefulness for disabled self catering accommodation is the fact that Byre Cottage has disabled access to the shower & toilet room.
Stable Cottage is slightly larger than the other and offers 3 bedroom accommodation, a double bedroom and two twin rooms. The twin rooms both contain bunk beds making the cottages great for group bookings.
Both cottages are self contained.
