Isle of Harris Self Catering
The Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles is one of the most beautiful of all the Hebrides Isles and one of the most interesting places is the blackhouse at Scarista (pictured left). Harris self catering accommodation is always of the highest standards possible but there is something really special about staying at the blackhouse. Built using the age old techniques and methods but to today's 5 star standards this self catering accommodation is pretty hard to beat.
The Isle of Harris is, most probably the best place to stay if you are touring the Outer Hebrides/Western Isles. Sat nicely between the Isle of Lewis and the Uists to which there is a regular ferry service at Leverburgh on South Harris, you are able to enjoy the many benefits of the island while remaining within driving distance of all other areas. The Harris self catering shown on this page is all within easy access of the small town of Leverburgh.
The self catering cottages to the left and the self catering house to the right are also available in Scarista, Harris. The house at Scarista, Vallay house, has recently been extensively upgraded and offers luxury accommodation in a two story building. The cottage accommodation is of the highest standard but set all on the one level making them highly suitable for the less able/mobile visitor.
